The Anesthesia and Pain Management Service works with all other specialties at Hope Veterinary Specialists to provide safe and comfortable sedation and anesthesia for your pet for a variety of diagnostic and surgical procedures.

Care is overseen by Dr. Sandra Perkowski, a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Anesthesia and Analgesia, using sophisticated tools, including electrocardiography, capnography, pulse oximetry, and direct and indirect arterial blood pressure, to monitor your pet under anesthesia. Dr. Perkowski and her team are trained in advanced techniques to control pain including local blocks, spinal and epidural anesthesia, specific nerve blocks, continuous drug infusions, and catheter-delivered local anesthetics. We can also provide advanced ventilation and airway management in patients that are difficult to anesthetize or that are undergoing advanced surgical and diagnostic procedures. Please do not hesitate to contact us with questions or concerns about how anesthesia may be involved in your pet’s care.

In addition to overseeing daily anesthesia services at Hope, Dr. Perkowski is available for consultation regarding anesthesia or pain management. The Anesthesia and Pain Management Service is happy to help develop a plan for managing complicated anesthetic or pain-related cases.

While specific service hours are not currently available, Hope VS is open 24/7 and we are happy to respond rapidly to the needs of veterinarians and pet owners.
