If you are unsure whether your pet has an emergency, please do not hesitate to call and speak to a member of our team.
You know your pet better than anyone, and if you believe he or she is sick, hurt, or in distress, you could be right. Types of emergency situations include the following; should your pet exhibit or experience any of these, he or she should be seen right away:
- Animal attacks
- Collapse episodes
- Difficulty breathing
- Difficulty urinating
- Hit-by-car incidents
- Ingestion of medications, poisons, or objects
- Severe diarrhea
Whether you come to Hope VS on your own or whether you have been referred to us by your primary veterinarian, we will work in conjunction with your primary veterinarian to provide your pet the best possible care. Through phone consultations and periodic updates, we will gain a better overall view and a more thorough health history of your pet. Your veterinarian will receive daily emails and faxes with information such as when your pet arrived, tests we ran, and the results we found. When your pet is discharged, your veterinarian will be made of aware of this too; along with receiving a complete written report. In addition, your veterinarian has 24/7 online access to all your pet's records and diagnostic tests performed at Hope with just the click of a button. Depending on your pet’s requirements and individual healthcare needs, you may be asked to follow-up with your primary veterinarian or our hospital.
If you do decide to come into the ER at Hope VS, if at all possible, please give us a call first; this way, we will be ready and waiting for you. While the triage process will remain the same, should your situation be critical, we will be even more ready to jump into action—supplies will be out, equipment will be ready, doctors will be standing by.
When you call, please have the following information ready: name of your pet, age, spay/neuter status, breed, problem, duration of the problem, and how long until you arrive.
While we hope you never need us, if you do, we’re here, 24 hours a day/7 days a week: 40 Three Tun Road, Malvern (19355). And, you can reach us at any hour of any day at 610.296.2099.
We have been completely happy with all of the care our dog has received at Hope. Dr. Cerroni took her time explaining everything to us afterwards, and we are extremely happy with the care she has provided, even more so once she explained how some of her procedures differ a little from what others may do, and why, and how it is a benefit to us and our dog.
