New Chester County Veterinary Hospital Provides Human-Level Care
Dr. Dennis Burkett
A new $4.5 million specialty and trauma care veterinary hospital is now the largest staffed and equipped pet medical center in Chester County.
Hope Veterinary Specialists (VS) will operate at a 21,000 square-foot facility in Malvern that comes complete with three operating rooms, eight procedure rooms, 13 exam rooms, a dedicated ICU (intensive care unit), 75 patient rooms, cages or runs, and the latest in imaging technology.
Complete with 22 doctors representing eight different specialties on staff, the hospital aims to bring the level of care that one would find at a hospital for humans, Dennis Burkett, Hope VS Medical Director and Cardiologist, said.
“That’s what really sets us apart: our people and their commitment to compassionate care,” Dr. Burkett said. “You marry that to a good facility and good equipment, then you have the best of both worlds.”
Dr. Burkett said the main reason the practice is moving to the facility is that it had no room to expand in previous location. Hope VS had reached capacity with 13,000 clients and 12,000 client visits annually, Dr. Burkett said. The new hospital is more than double the size of the original 9,600 square-foot facility in Malvern.
The expanded medical center will also add more jobs to the area, as its staff will be increased by 25 percent to a total of approximately 80, including nurses, nursing assistants and client specialists.
Though the practice is currently open at 40 Three Tun Rd in Malvern, the grand opening will be held on July 13 from 11 am to 2 pm.
