Dr. Samantha Hart received board certification in surgery from the American College of Veterinary Surgeons in 2009 and in emergency medicine and critical care from the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care in 2011. She has special interest in respiratory disease, mechanical ventilation, sepsis, shock, and fluid therapy.
Dr. Hart graduated from Murdoch University College of Veterinary Medicine, Perth, Australia, with honors, in 2005. She then completed a foal internship, rotating internship, equine surgery residency, and MS in pharmacology at Marion duPont Scott Equine Medical Center at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, Leesburg, Virginia. From 2009 to 2011, she was a fellow in large animal emergency and critical care at the University of Pennsylvania. She remained at Penn for 1 year as a clinical lecturer in the large animal hospital before changing course to focus on canine and feline medicine. She completed a residency in small animal emergency and critical care at the University of Pennsylvania from 2012 to 2015 and then worked as a criticalist at Friendship Hospital for Animals, Washington, DC, from 2015 to 2017. She joined Hope Veterinary Specialists in 2018.
Dr. Hart is a native of Australia. She moved to the United States in 2005 and lives in the Philadelphia area with her adorable elderly chihuahuas, Tootsie and Maui. In her free time, she enjoys mountain-biking, hiking, crossfit training, and exploring Philadelphia.
