She joined Hope Veterinary Specialists as a member of the emergency service in 2016 and also serves as the hospital director. She also enjoys working with veterinary students.
Dr. Wood completed a 1-year rotating internship at Oradell Animal Hospital in Paramus, New Jersey, from 2006 to 2007, followed by a 1-year fellowship in emergency medicine and critical care at the University of Pennsylvania. Prior to joining Hope, she served for 4 years as the medical director of Newtown Veterinary Hospital, a general practice in Bucks County. Dr. Wood graduated from Cornell University in 2001 with degrees in philosophy and biology with a concentration in neurobiology and worked as a substitute teacher of chemistry, physics, and lacrosse for 1 year before attending veterinary school.
Dr. Wood lives in Chester County with her husband and children. She has loved animals since she was a young child. In fact, when she was 3 years old, her parents asked her who she wanted to invite to her fourth birthday party and she named the neighborhood dogs only--no people!
