Dr. Luis Perez received his DVM in 2017 after attending Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in St. Kitts and Nevis for academic training and the University of Tennessee for clinical training. He completed a 1-year rotating internship in medicine/surgery/internal medicine at Ironhorse VetCare in Dublin, California, and is a surgical resident at Hope Veterinary Specialists. Upon completion of the 3-year residency program at Hope VS, he will seek board certification from the American College of Veterinary Surgeons. Dr. Perez is also a certified canine rehabilitation practitioner (CCRP).
Dr. Perez was raised in the desert of Phoenix, Arizona, and attended Arizona State University. He received a BS in Kinesiology and Biology in 2005. Following graduation, he moved to San Diego, California, where he worked as a veterinary assistant/technician at a small animal veterinary general practice, and as a surgical technician for a mobile veterinary surgeon.
In his free time, he enjoys hiking, sports, reading, and spending time with his cat, Captain Kirk.
