Dr. Emily Tincher graduated from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2016 after receiving her BS in biology from the University of Kentucky in 2012. She completed a 1-year rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at a specialty hospital in Kentucky before joining Hope VS in the summer of 2017. She enjoys building relationships with clients to help them choose the best medical options for themselves and their pet.
The daughter of 2 veterinarians, Dr. Tincher became interested in emergency medicine while working in her parents’ mixed animal veterinary practice. She broadened her experience by working as a technician in other small animal general and specialty practices, equine practices, and research positions while training to become a doctor.
Dr. Tincher is a native of Kentucky. When not working, she enjoys traveling, riding her off-the-track thoroughbred racehorse, rooting for University of Kentucky sports teams, and spending time with her husband and golden retriever and terrier mix dogs.
Dr. Tincher is passionate about leadership development and stewardship within the veterinary profession. A graduate of the Kentucky Power of 10 Leadership program, she is involved with the Veterinary Leadership Institute and is a member of the Early Career Development Committee of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA). She has lectured at the AVMA Annual Convention in the Professional Development Track and is a previous national officer of the Veterinary Business Management Association.
