Because we know how difficult it can be to care give to an ill pet, Hope Veterinary Specialists has partnered with Day By Day Pet Caregiver Support (DBD) to provide compassionate support to caregivers of aging, chronic and terminally ill pets.
In addition to a telephone hotline and online support, DBD also hosts support group meetings which are led by licensed professional counselors. DBD’s counseling team will provide a safe, secure, non-judgmental environment where you can share your feelings and struggles regarding your pet caregiving experience.
Through discussions with other pet caregivers, you’ll learn that you are not alone. Hear what other pet caregivers are going through or have gone through on a day by day basis. And have a chance to speak about your own experience and journey with your pet.
The first 15 minutes of each support group meeting will feature an educational segment related to a common medical condition, guest speaker or emotional topic.
Emotional support information about pre-bereavement, guilt, stress, decision-making and euthanasia will be available at every support group meeting. (Beverages and light snacks available)
