Lauren May, VMD, DACVS

Dr. Lauren May is a Pennsylvania native. She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School Of Veterinary Medicine and went on to complete a one-year rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. May then accepted a residency position in small animal surgery at the University of California, Davis Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital and the Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine.

Following her residencies, Dr. May joined a private practice in upstate New York, performing orthopedic, neurologic, and soft tissue surgery, and stayed three years before moving back to Pennsylvania to join Hope Veterinary Specialists.

Dr. May is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons.  Her primary clinical interests include but are not limited to surgical oncology and urogenital surgery. She is trained in minimally invasive soft tissue surgery (laparoscopy and thoracoscopy) and has contributed to publications in both peer-reviewed veterinary journals and chapters in veterinary textbooks.
