Everyone at Hope was so nice and compassionate. Strangers I met in the lobby consoled me. You knew everyone who stepped through Hope's doors loved animals.

Dr. Melissa Ogg grew up in Broomall, Pennsylvania. After obtaining a business degree from Temple University, she spent 6 years as an actuarial consultant in health benefits before changing course and obtaining her degree in veterinary medicine from the University of Pennsylvania in 2014. She then completed a one year rotating internship at a specialty hospital in Delaware before joining Hope in July 2015.
Dr. Ogg worked for several years as a receptionist in the Emergency Service at Matthew J. Ryan Veterinary Hospital while she was pursuing her veterinary degree. She also worked in the Section of Medical Genetics, helping to develop a database of hereditary diseases in dogs and cats to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of genetic diseases.
In addition to her love of emergency medicine, Dr. Ogg also has an affinity for internal medicine, oncology, and radiology. In her free time she enjoys baking, exploring the Philadelphia restaurant scene, and traveling to Bermuda.
